Advisory Board
Dr. Robert E. Levin is a Professor of Food Science at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Massachusetts (“UMass”). In 1963, Dr. Levin received a Ph.D. in Microbiology, University of California at Davis. Dr. Levin is an expert in:
• Food safety, detection of mutagens and carcinogens;
• Microbial food spoilage enzymes;
• Immuno assays, fermentation technology;
• Detection of carcinogens in foods; and
• PCR detection and quantification of E. coli O157:H7, Listeria monocytogenes, vibrio parahaemolyticus, and V. vulnificus in foods.
Dr. Levin has developed a Molecular Microbial DNA Detection System. This real time PCR based system accurately and consistently detects harmful bacteria with a sensitivity of 5 cells per gram for vegetables and meat products in 1.5 to 2 hours.
Dr. Kamlesh Bulchandani is a renowned bacteria epidemiology expert. Dr. Bulchandani studied through Gujarat, India followed by Pre-Science at Maharaja Sayajirao University.
His studies have included various technological advances, Molecular Biology, and Microbiology. Dr. Bulchandani practices in Cardio Vascular Diseases. Dr. Bulchandani teaches University of Illinois Resident Staff Team(s) and has been involved in care of infections including MRSA, C. Diff, and on occasion Meningitis.
Dr. Kamlesh Bulchandani will advise and work with BSW in the science of nutraceuticals as prevention for coronary, heart, skin, intestinal and age-dementia diseases as well as Type II Diabetes. Dr. Bulchandani as a scientist, epidemiologist, and cardiologist brings experience, knowledge, and expertise to the field of bacteria sciences to combat the violence microbials can do to the human body.
